A Message From Our Founder
My name is Dr. London Moore. I was born and raised in Los Angeles, California. My background and experience combine a love of working with student and adult learners, a passion for leadership development, DEIJ work, culturally relevant pedagogy, a background in administration, coaching in practices of teaching and learning, professional development, curriculum development and policy advocacy.
I completed my undergraduate education at Tufts University in Boston, Massachusetts where I obtained my Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. I went on to obtain my Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership at Louisiana State University as well as my Ph.D. in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Culturally Relevant Pedagogy. My research specifically focused on best practices for training teachers and leaders on the implementation of culturally relevant pedagogy in schools and classrooms.
London's Background
I began my teaching career in Ghana, West Africa where I have since co-founded the Ghana Educational Collaborative (GEC), a non-profit that provides access to education for students who have severe financial need and extraordinary promise. In addition to financial assistance, GEC also offers our students leadership and development training. While founding GEC, I also had the profound pleasure of serving as the founding Principal of Thrive Academy, a public boarding school for at-promise students in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
I am the Senior Director of Schools for NOVA Pioneer in East Africa, responsible for the growth and development of our six schools, who center on decolonizing education on the Continent of Africa, through building leaders and innovators. I focus on leadership development, strategic planning, project management, curriculum and assessment, teaching and learning, and the coaching and development of our adult learners from positions such as School Leaders, to functional heads, to teachers. I am also the President of Purpose Institute, a tertiary institute focused on helping students find their life’s purpose and creating a thriving business or non-profit while obtaining their bachelors in social entrepreneurship.
I lead London Moore and Associate Consulting (LMAC), where I am able to work with some of the most brilliant minds in education, leadership development and diversity, equity, inclusion and justice. LMAC specializes in Executive Coaching, DEIJ Work, Culturally Relevant Pedagogy, Critical Race Theory, Leadership Development, Practices of Teaching and Learning and Curriculum and Assessment development. We have had the pleasure of working alongside several inspiring organizations to strengthen their work. Some of these organizations include Global Schools Forum, Imaginable Futures The Hunt Institute, America Achieves, Berkshire Schools, MAIA Impact, Christel House International, National Geographic, Instill Education, The Louisiana Resource Center for Educators, The National Institute of STEM Education, Silverleaf Academy, Reach University, Atlas Workshops and The Louisiana Department of Education.
I have spent the last 14 years in education, in roles from Director of Schools, Principal, Adjunct Professor, President, Non-Profit Executive Director, Professional Development Director, DEI Director, DEI Consultant, Culturally Relevant School Coach, Executive Leadership Coach, Leadership Development School Coach, and State Curriculum Writer. I work with a variety of highly skilled, motivated and impactful consulting partners to ensure every experience meets the needs of the client to the highest level.
Being an educator has been the most profound experience of my life. I have been able to push the minds of youth and adults throughout the United States and on the Continent of Africa. I hope to be able to continue my work by contributing to the work of your organization.
