Mr Peter Gachobe holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Chemistry (First Class Honors.) from Kenyatta University, an Advanced Diploma in Teacher Training from the Kenya Technical Trainers College, and a professional teacher certification from Teachers’ Service Commission of Kenya and Cambridge Assessment International Education. Mr Gachobe’s passion for STEM subjects and Diversity & Inclusion at Work began long before his teaching career. From 2013 to 2015, he worked in the oil and gas industry across the USA, the UK, and Central Africa where he thrived working in a multi-cultural workforce.
In 2017, Mr Gachobe joined Nova Pioneer as a Resident Chemistry Teacher igniting his students’ love for STEM subjects. His dedication to professional growth led him to new roles such as Senior Resident Teacher(2018-2019), Senior Associate Learning Designer (2020 – 2022) and Associate Dean of Instruction and Learning (2023-2024) in the same organization.
Peter has steadily grown his expertise in the field of education over the last 7 years. As a Senior Resident Teacher, he has honed his skills in effective classroom management and driving instructional rigour. This involved a focus on student practice, academic progress monitoring, and reteaching strategies. Transitioning to a Senior Associate Learning Designer, he gained valuable experience in curriculum and assessment design, incorporating principles of backward design, universal design for learning, and project-based learning.
Currently, as an Associate Dean of Learning, Peter coaches teachers and leads professional development workshops/sessions for both teachers and instructional leaders. These workshops centre on academic monitoring cycles, practices of reteaching and differentiation, data-driven instruction and leading effective professional development sessions.
As a life-long learner, Peter is committed to professional growth and learning. He is currently working on short courses on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion in Education from UNESCO and will be assuming the role of Dean of Instruction and Learning one of the Nova Pioneer campuses in 2025.
